One Direction to play Teen Awards

One Direction will be playing at the Teen Awards

One Direction and Cher Lloyd are among the acts who will feature at Radio 1's Teen Awards next month.

The line-up was announced today, with Pixie Lott headlining the event at London's Wembley Arena for 8,000 fans.

Singer Mollie King from The Saturdays will co-host the show with Radio 1 presenter Nick Grimshaw.

One Direction are heading for this week's number one slot in the singles chart, with debut What Makes You Beautiful expected to be the fastest-selling track of the year.

The Teen Awards are staged to celebrate the achievements of inspirational young people, as well as honouring music, sport and entertainment stars.

Also on the bill are Ed Sheeran and Rizzle Kicks.

Liam Payne, from One Direction, said: "I've always wanted to go to the Teen Awards and now we're playing at them. The line-up is incredible."

The awards bash will be broadcast live on Radio 1 and streamed on the station's website.

Meanwhile, the band's Harry Styles has revealed he loves baring all.

"Stripping off is very liberating, I feel so free," he told The Sun.
