Oprah: Is Gary Barlow a big deal?

Oprah Winfrey is clearly not a Take That fan

Oprah Winfrey confessed she had no idea who Gary Barlow was after watching him perform at the Weinsteins' Academy Awards party.

The Take That star performed a set for stars including Oprah and Meryl Streep, and sang songs from the Weinstein's new musical Finding Neverland at the pre-Oscars bash at the Scarpetta bar, in the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills.

But Oprah said to the Daily Mirror: "Who is that Gary Bailey? Is he a big deal in your country? He's on a reality show or in a boyband?"

Gary shouldn't be too offended though as the singer told the newspaper he was not staying to party after his performance and wanted to get straight back to the UK.

Gary said: "It's not really my thing. When I'm away on big trips like this I've got the missus in my ear saying, 'When are you coming home, hurry up!' It's not worth the grief - and I would rather be back at home with the family."
