Paloma Faith has revealed LA Reid has become like a father to her after taking her under his wing to help her crack the US.
The 31-year-old British singer - who has been nominated for two Brit awards - is trying to make it in America and has been getting a helping hand from the producer and former US X Factor judge.
Paloma told The Sun: "He's really, really lovely and supportive. He really believes in me and I don't really know why. But he's really encouraging and believes in what I'm about. He's my American dad now."
And now she is working hard to get herself known in the US.
She said: "It feels exciting and daunting. I'm up for trying anything once but we'll see what happens. The response has been really great but I'm no stranger to hard work. Nothing in my career has come instantly."
Paloma admits she'd love to achieve the success Adele has had across the pond, but wouldn't dare try to steal her crown.
She said: "They're not going to forget her over there and I think we'd all want what she's got. But she's an anomaly."
