Pharrell Williams has confessed he has a tendency to "over think it" when he's producing his own music.
The Happy star, who wrote and produced his second album G I R L, which went to number one, revealed to Notion magazine that creating his own music can be a strange process.
''I used to always over think it because I'm trying to produce myself," explained Pharrell, who has produced for chart stars like Beyonce and Justin Timberlake.
''I'm having to draw from myself, which is so weird, so I'd always overshoot.''
However, Pharrell - who appears on the cover of the magazine - said he feels at ease with his latest offering.
''What's made me feel comfortable about making an album is because it's not about me. It's about girl. I feel comfortable singing it and making it and performing it," said the 41-year-old.
