Shane MacGowan

Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan is raising money for Haiti.

MacGowan has been able to recruit class acts such as Nick Cave, The Sex Pistols' Glenn Matlock, The Pretenders' Chrissie Hynde and Mick Jones from The Clash.

Funds raised from their single will go towards Irish charity Concern Worldwide, which has been working in Haiti for the last 16 years and has 100 staff there.

Three special celebrity efforts, including Shane's version of I Put A Spell On You, are being released to raise funds for Haiti.

Lionel Richie and legendary producer Quincy Jones are behind one project in the US to rerelease We Are The World, while Simon Cowell is rerecording REM's classic Everybody Hurts.
