Radiohead have announced additional dates to their world tour schedule, which includes three nights at London's Roundhouse in May.

The alternative rock band, consisting of members Thom Yorke, Colin Greenwood, Phil Selway and Ed O'Brien, will also headline two nights at Madison Square Garden in New York this July.

The band, who are working on a ninth studio album, have dates confirmed in Amsterdam at the Heineken Music Hall and Paris' Le Zenith in May.

Among the live shows scheduled are August gigs at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and a trip to Mexico to headline the Palacio De Los Deportes venue in October.

The tour dates suggest a busy 2016 for the award-winning band who will also release their first album since eighth studio recording King Of Limbs in 2011.

In 2015, Radiohead unveiled their unused theme for the James Bond movie Spectre.

Producers of the blockbusting franchise opted instead for Sam Smith's The Writing's On The Wall, a decision that won the 23-year-old Londoner an Oscar for best song.

Radiohead previously announced a raft of festival appearances, including a headline slot at Primavera in Spain and Montreal's Osheaga Music Festival.

Speaking to the Press Association in 2015, Radiohead star Selway confirmed the acclaimed alternative favourites were producing music.

"We're back into it," he said. "We want to finish a record and that's where we're at. We're just launching ourselves into it."

::Tickets for the shows will go on sale at 9am on March 18.
