Rainforest trip for Happy Mondays

He has survived a stint in the jungle and now Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder is off to the rainforest and this time he is taking the rest of the band with him.

The Manchester act, famed for hits including Step On and Freaky Dancin', are taking part in a new TV show about musicians living alongside remote tribes

Ryder, who was runner-up to Stacey Solomon in the 2010 series of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!, and his bandmates will share the homes of the Embera Drua people of the Upper Chagres River in Panama, central America.

They will spend a week there and be asked to come up with a new track that blends their own musical style with the culture of the people they are visiting.

Also appearing on Singing In The Rainforest, which will be shown on the Watch channel, are former Busted singer Charlie Simpson and pop-rock trio Scouting For Girls.

Simpson will visit the home of the San Bushmen in Southern Africa, while the band will spend time in Papua New Guinea.

Acts already announced include Myleene Klass who was a runner-up in another series of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!
