Run-DMC's Joseph 'Rev Run' Simmons has launched an 80s-inspired trainer and T-shirt collection.
The hip-hop legend, who co-founded the influential group in 1980, told how the range, titled Run NYC, consists of high-top and low-cut footwear and tops featuring "words of wisdom".
"This is the ideal moment for me, it's something that I'm really proud of - my influence is from the 80s... The sneakers remind me of when I was younger, of hip-hop around the time of the Beastie Boys, the whole time period when I was out doing Walk This Way," he said.
"Run NYC has got a street and old-school vibe to it. The design of the sneakers are really cool. On each sneaker is a tag with a word of wisdom so it's pretty attractive."
The Rev said the line was a "natural progression".
"I've been doing sneakers for a while. Years ago, Run-DMC got involved with Adidas and then I opened up my own Run Athletics. Pastries, which is my daughters' line, is also doing very well. So it is a natural progression to being the owner of my own company," he said.
The Run NYC collection is available in Foot Locker stores now.
