Revealed: Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle's new look
Friday, 24 April 2009
TV singing sensation Susan Boyle has got a new look.
After a fortnight in which discussion of her looks has occupied probably as much newsprint and internet bandwidth as the Budget, singing sensation Boyle appears to have caved in and undergone a makeover.
The 47-year-old’s greying hair and plain attire have been the subject of intense debate across the country since her spine-tingling performance of I Dreamed A Dream on Britain’s Got Talent, but today she was spotted outside her home in Blackburn, West Lothian, with chestnut brown locks and sporting a leather jacket.
She also appeared to have had her bushy eyebrows trimmed — though whether this was because she wanted to dissociate herself from another famously beetle-browed Scot’s performance at the despatch box on Wednesday is unclear.
In an interview earlier this week, Boyle said she was happy with the way she looked, but still felt scarred by taunts she suffered because of her unruly hair as a youngster.
“The ones who were mean to me then are now nice to me. I still see the kids I went to school with because we all live in the same area,” she told Star magazine.
“They accept me now. And look at me — I’ve had the last laugh.”
Online video clips of the unemployed church volunteer’s performance on April 11 have wowed fans around the world, and Boyle counts actress Demi Moore among her supporters.
She is the hot favourite to walk away with the ITV1 show’s £100,000 jackpot, and said she would be humbled to perform in front of the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance — another part of the winner’s prize.
The Scottish spinster, who lives with her cat Pebbles, also appeared to be wearing make-up.
She was pictured wearing smart trousers and heels as she set off for the shops.
Meanwhile, a female friend was spotted removing four bags of fan mail from her house in Blackburn.
Singing star Elaine Paige has sent a message of support as Boyle continues in the talent competition.

I love Susan Boyle's singing and I think she looks beautiful either way. Being a victim of bullies due to "my looks". I understand what she went through. I thought that the most offensive and rude remark was from Joy Behar from The View, about how someone should have made her look better for her television appearances. Susan has inner beauty that makes her a true treasure. I to would love to hear her sing live. It is wonderful when we hear a Cinderella story.

Yeah Chris i believe she'll be stopping off in Chicago South suburbs just after touring edinburgh and then getting the bus over to Glasgow. in two or three songs time people will be bored.

Susan Boyle looks 100% better after her trip to the salon - all she needed was to have her brows cleaned up, hair cut and dyed and a little makeup which is what she has done. It seems to have taken 10 years off her age - she had looked older than her 47 years. She still represents the "average" person - "average" people get their hair done, wear makeup, etc.
Susan's slacks and jacket are also more age appropriate. She really doesn't need to do more than what she's already done. Some of the suggestions on TV here in America for her were ridiculous and most of us hope she doesn't go to the extremes that are being presented by some of the designers.
