Rihanna leads winners at Bet Awards

Rihanna has scooped best female RnB pop artist at the Bet Awards.

The Diamonds singer was one of the night's high profile winners at a ceremony that featured performances by a huge line-up of stars and saw Emeli Sande win best international act.

Drake got the most nominations of the evening as he was up for 12 awards, but only came away with three.

However, he was a no show on the night amid rumours he was avoiding rival Chris Brown, but won best collaboration with 2 Chainz and Kendrick Lamar, video of the year and the Coca Cola Viewers Choice award.

The night also included performances by Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake, Nicki Minaj, Ciara, Chris Brown, Pharrell, Robin Thicke, Beenie Man and Erykah Badu.

Justin also performed in a medley with soul singer Charlie Wilson, who won the lifetime achievement award. Other artists joining them on stage were Stevie Wonder, Jamie Foxx, Pharrell, Snoop Dogg and India Arie.

Award winners included Chris Brown for the Fandemonium gong, Kerry Washington as best actress, Jamie Foxx as best actor and Think Like A Man as best movie.
