Rudebox singer Rihanna will join rapper Jay-Z, Tinie Tempah and Florence + the Machine on the bill for Radio 1's Hackney Weekend 2012, it has been announced.

The Barbadian singer will headline the free event on Sunday June 24 at East London's Hackney Marshes.

Jay-Z, who is married to singer Beyonce, will headline on Saturday June 23.

Musicians Jessie J, Ed Sheeran, Professor Green, Leona Lewis, DJ Fresh, Plan B, Flo Rida and Will.i.am will also perform over the weekend as part of more than 100 UK and international artists performing on six BBC stages including the Radio 1 Main Stage, Radio 1Xtra Stage, Dance Stage, In New Music We Trust Stage and the BBC Introducing Stage.

Radio 1 have made 100,000 free tickets available to those who pay a registration fee.

Ticket registration has now closed but those who have registered will be able to apply for tickets at 11am on Sunday March 25 and at 4pm on Monday March 26 at bbc.co.uk/radio1.

The majority of tickets have been reserved for those from Hackney and the other five Olympic boroughs, with allocation on a first-come, first-served basis.
