Robbie gets baby tips from Serge

Robbie Williams has been advised to go on tour after his baby is born

Robbie Williams should go on tour as soon as his baby is born, Kasabian's Serge Pizzorno has joked.

The Take That star is to become a dad when his wife Ayda Field has their baby girl later this year and father-of-one Serge - who played with Robbie at the Soccer Aid charity event this month - said he warned the star that the early months are "horrific" and the best way around it is to head out on the road.

The guitarist, whose own son Ennio will be two this summer, told The Sun: "I told Robbie at Soccer Aid he should go on tour for the first three months after his daughter is born in September."

Serge continued: "The first three months are horrific. Your life just becomes about getting covered in poo and talk about nappies."

The guitarist might find himself in a position to give his bandmate Tom Meighan some parenting tips too, as the frontman and his partner Kim recently welcomed a daughter.

Their baby girl, who they have named Mimi Malone Meighan, arrived a few weeks ago and Serge announced the news after Soccer Aid, which saw him shoot a spectacular goal.

He said: "I want to dedicate my goal to Tom, who's just become a dad to a little girl."
