Robin Thicke: Fatherhood is scary

Robin Thicke says fatherhood is a bit scary

Robin Thicke has said being a new father has given him the greatest joy and love he's ever known - but also a bit of fear.

Robin, whose wife Paula Patton gave birth to their first child, a son, earlier this year, said parenthood can be scary because it fills you with doubt.

"(I think), what am I gonna do? Am I gonna be a good dad, am I going to be able to provide for him?" he said. "As a father you need to man up and try and get your life to together."

The R&B singer said fatherhood will be one of the influences on his next album, which is in the planning stages.

"I have so much to talk about with the baby now and all these new challenges in life, so a lot of the themes that I'm writing about are a lot bigger," he said, noting the economic and political upheaval in the US.

Robin is due to perform at a private concert for fans as part of Renaissance Hotel's kickoff to their RLife artist program, which gives fans a chance to connect with top musicians.

The pay will be excellent and there will be a lot of fringe benefits, too. Don't talk about a neighbour's private life in mixed company.More
