Rock producer Andy Johns dies

Sound engineer and producer Andy Johns, who worked with Led Zeppelin, Van Halen and the Rolling Stones, has died.

His family said he died on Sunday in Los Angeles after a brief hospital stay to treat complications from a stomach ulcer..

Johns, 62, was born in England and started his career at Olympic Studios in London. He went on to produce dozens of classic rock 'n' roll albums including the Stones' Exile On Main Street.

He is survived by his wife Annette; sons Evan, Jesse and William; grandchildren Lennon, Everly, Charlie and Luca; brother Glyn Johns; and sister Susan Johns.
