US rock giants Nine Inch Nails will make their Northern Irish debut at the Belsonic festival this summer.

Fronted by Oscar and Grammy award-winning producer Trent Reznor, the pioneers of industrial rock will headline the music festival at Custom House Square in the heart of Belfast on Wednesday, August 21.

The concert will mark Nine Inch Nail’s first Irish headline show in almost 20 years as well as their first ever date north of the border. Support comes from local instrumental rockers And So I Watch You From Afar. Tickets go on sale on Friday, May 31.

Also added to this year’s line-up is iconic Manchester rock band James, best known for hit singles Sit Down and She’s A Star. The band, which reformed in 2007 following a six-year break, will perform on Saturday, August 24 as special guests to Suede.

Other headline acts set to perform are electronic superstars Basement Jaxx (August 16), Brit award-winning singer/songwriter Ben Howard (August 17) and dance music star Steve Angello, who headlines on Sunday, August 25.

The festival has become renowned for bringing international talent to the heart of the city centre's Cathedral Quarter.
