Rugby star tries music with Manics

Rugby international Jamie Roberts has been tackling a different kind of pitch - as he joined rock act Manic Street Preachers on stage.

The Welsh star had a conversion from sport to music when he played guitar with the band as they played at Melbourne's Festival Hall.

The band had lined up a series of concerts Down Under to coincide with the British and Irish Lions tour.

Jamie, 26, posted an online picture of himself performing with the trio, whose hits include A Design For Life and If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next.

He wrote on Twitter: "One of the best experiences I've ever had. Incredible."
