Ryder rules out Madchester reunion
Monday, 6 February 2012
Like the Roses, Shaun's group have agreed to reform for shows in the coming months. But in an interview broadcast by Real Radio tonight (Monday), the frontman said rumours that his band would play support at the Fool's Gold hitmakers' outdoor Manchester shows were wide of the mark.
He told Evening Show host David Heane: "I'll put this straight; there's no plans, it's absolutely garbage that we are going to be playing at Heaton Park with Stone Roses, that's rubbish."
He said there were no plans beyond 10 Mondays dates which have been announced, although he said they "might" confirm some festival shows.
He added: "There's absolutely no plans at the moment for a new album."
