Sharon Osbourne has made a triumphant return to The X Factor panel, according to reports, "overshadowing" her fellow judges.

The Sun said that the fiery judge dominated proceedings during the gruelling 10-hour audition at Glasgow's Hilton hotel.

Sharon, who quit the show in 2007, also made fellow judges Gary Barlow, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh giggle when a tree surgeon came on stage to audition and she joked about going under the knife: "Ooh, I love a good surgeon!"

One of those auditioning was Scottish contestant Jade Richards, who has returned for a third try at success.

Jade's last attempt at stardom ended at the judges' houses stage in 2011, with Kelly Rowland in Miami.

A source told The Sun: "Sharon certainly made the most of her comeback. She sat in the middle of the panel and had something flamboyant to say about every act."
