Simply Red revived for world tour

Mick Hucknall is to revive chart-topping act Simply Red for 30th anniversary concerts next year - five years after retiring in the wake of a farewell tour.

The group - which will see a number of long-serving bandmates returning to the line-up - will play a series of 14 UK dates as part of a world tour.

Mick called time on the group - whose hits include Holding Back The Years and Money's Too Tight To Mention - with a finale concert at the O2 Arena in December 2010. They return to the same venue to round off the UK leg of their shows almost five years to the day.

The band will include sax player Ian Kirkham - who spent 24 years in the line-up - and other long time personnel such as guitarist Kenji Suzuki and bass player Steve Lewinson.

Mick said: "I like an anniversary, and this is a big one. It feels like the right time."

The tour kicks off with two nights at the Brighton Centre on November 28 and 29, 2015, and winds up with a pair of shows at the O2 on December 17 and 18.
