Sinead O'Connor tweets plea for help to fans
Troubled singer Sinead O'Connor has made pleas for help on Twitter.
She also revealed she took an overdose in Los Angeles on January 5, and tried to end her life a second time following a broken ankle days later.
The singer made a desperate plea for psychiatric help from her Twitter followers on Wednesday after claiming she was in "serious danger" without her medication.
She tweeted: "i realise i will be in trouble 4 doing this but.. ireland is a VERY hard place to find help in," the 45-year-old wrote.
"So having tried other ways 1st im asking does any1 know a psychiatrist in dublin or wicklow who could urgently see me today please? im really un-well... and in danger."
She has previously battled mental health issues.
Hours later, O'Connor (45) thanked fans and medical professionals who came to her aid.
The singer went on to explain that the reaction to her whirlwind marriage to Barry Herridge led to her downward spiral.
The pair split after just 16 days, but reunited days later.
