Sir Tom makes royal wedding offer

Sir Tom Jones arrives for The Prince's Trust Rock Gala, at the Royal Albert Hall

Sir Tom Jones has offered to sing at the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton - if invited.

He was one of a number of celebrities to wish the couple well at a charity event in aid of The Prince's Trust.

Sir Tom said: "People all over the world are excited about the royal wedding and I'm one of those people.

"I've always been a royalist and I always will be.

"If they invite me along to the wedding I'd happily come and sing a few songs."

Arriving at the Royal Albert Hall with the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall was greeted by one of the hosts of the event, Dame Edna Everage played by Barry Humphries.

As Dame Edna towered over Camilla in a bright blue sequinned dress, the Duchess remarked: "I feel a bit under-dressed compared to you."

Dame Edna replied: "I try to not make personal remarks at this stage in the evening."

As the royal couple met singer Paloma Faith, Dame Edna said: "The Prince looked a bit regretful - wouldn't Paloma be a better match than Kate Middleton?

"But it's a bit late."
