Spears goes Smurftastic for sons

Britney Spears says she sang on the Smurfs 2 soundtrack to surprise her children

Britney Spears has revealed she has recorded a new song for the Smurfs 2 soundtrack.

The Toxic songstress, whose track Ooh La La will be played during the film's end credits, said that she wanted to do it for her two sons - seven-year-old Sean and Jayden, six, reported Billboard.com.

"I have always loved the Smurfs as a kid and now my boys are the biggest Smurfs fans EVER. I wanted to surprise them with a song in the movie. I know they'll think it's Smurftastic!" she said.

Britney, who is working on her eighth studio album, recently scored a top five hit with Will.i.am on Scream And Shout.

Katy Perry, Neil Patrick Harris and Hank Azaria will reprise their roles in The Smurfs 2, which will be released this summer, alongside newcomers Christina Ricci and Brendan Gleeson.
