Britney Spears has admitted that she still feels inspired by the music her ex, Justin Timberlake, makes, despite their split.
The Work B**** singer told USA Today of her respect for her former boyfriend's music, according to the Daily Mail.
She said: "Justin Timberlake [is so different and fresh]. It's inspiring for me, and it makes people eager to listen to music, which helps everyone."
Britney, who shares a manager with Miley Cyrus, also had some words of praise for the young Wrecking Ball singer: "She's cool, she's fun to be around. You know, she's got really good energy."
She complimented Beyonce on her recent surprise album release, too, saying: "what she did with her [surprise release] album was genius, really brilliant."
Britney and Justin met when they were performers on The Mickey Mouse Club as children, alongside other future stars including Christina Aguilera and Ryan Gosling. They dated but had a stormy break up in 2002, with rumours that Britney had cheated on Justin, who later referred to it in his song Cry Me A River.
"We were two birds of the same feather - small-town kids, doing the same thing. But then you become adults, and the way you were as kids doesn't make any sense. I won't speak on her, but at least for me, I was a totally different person."
He continued: "I just don't think we were normal; there was nothing normal about our existence. We spent way too much time being the biggest thing for teenyboppers.
"It was exciting that we were having so much success and we could do whatever we wanted. And I mean that about everybody: Backstreet Boys, 'N Sync, Britney, Christina. We could literally go, 'Oh, man, let's go to Bali,' and we'd be on a plane to Bali. We were little kids with big toys. You do the math - that's not going to last."
