Stride: New album more is mature

Roy Stride has been recording the band's new album

Scouting For Girls frontman Roy Stride says the band's new album has a more grown-up sound.

Dad-of-two Roy and his married bandmates Pete Ellard and Greg Churchhouse are back with The Light Between Us after a long writing period.

Roy said: "This record is more adult, but then I'm married with two children now, so that has to happen. I've got a boy and a girl, three and two."

The singer also said that he was very excited about the upcoming album tour, saying that the songs on the new album were written to be played live.

He explained: "We've got this tour coming up, and we're going to be playing a lot from the new album.

"When we toured the second album, we ended up only being able to play four or five songs from it because we'd done it all in the studio and couldn't work out how to play the songs live."

Roy, who has written songs for One Direction, Olly Murs and Alexandra Burke, said: "For the past 15 years, almost 20 years, I've been practising writing songs. I never learned anyone else's songs, I just wanted to write my own. From then, I just found it easier to write my own too."

This isn't a good time to make travel plans. Weather conditions and work responsibilities have a way of wreaking havoc with your schedule. Wait another few days before putting down a hefty deposit. Working behind the scenes will yield significant rewards. If someone asks you to serve as their assistant, go ahead and accept. The pay will be excellent and there will be a lot of fringe benefits, too. Don't talk about a neighbour's private life in mixed company.More
