Susan Boyle has plucked an amateur American singer from obscurity and offered her the chance to record a duet with her.
The Scottish singer, who became an international star after appearing on Britain's Got Talent, picked American mother-of-three Amber Stassi from thousands of entrants in an online talent contest dubbed Susan's Search.
SuBo, who called Stassi at home in New York to break the news, said: "I really wanted to give someone the opportunity I had.
"Amber is a remarkable and talented lady and I am really looking forward to singing with her."
The pair will record a duet for SuBo's forthcoming album The Gift.
Stassi, 33, who works as a paramedic, said: "We have had some hard times, if my father was here now he would be so proud, I know he's here in spirit, but this is a chance to give my kids a good memory and maybe a chance at a better life."
