T in the Park tickets going on sale

Calvin Harris is among the line-up for this year's T in the Park

Tickets for the 20th year of the award-winning T in the Park festival go on sale this week.

The Scottish event, named international music festival of the year by listings website Pollstar last week, has announced a bumper programme of eclectic music acts to celebrate its 20th anniversary. In 1994, 17,000 people attended the first festival at Strathclyde Park in Lanarkshire while this year organisers expect to host 85,000 people on each of the three days between July 12 and July 14 at the site in Balado, Kinross.

World-renowned DJ Calvin Harris has been revealed as the latest act to join the line-up for this year's festival.

Headliners for the main stage have been confirmed as Mumford & Sons, Rihanna and The Killers while the weekend also includes crowd favourites such as The Script, Chase & Status, Deacon Blue, Dizzee Rascal, Editors, Ocean Colour Scene, Stereophonics and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Homegrown talent also features strongly on this year`s line-up, with Emeli Sande, The Fratellis, Frightened Rabbit, Nina Nesbitt, The Proclaimers, Twin Atlantic, The View and CHVRCHES, who are tipped to be rising stars in 2013.

T in the Park 2013 tickets will go on sale on Friday, online at www.tinthepark.com or www.ticketmaster.co.uk, or by calling 08444 999 990.

Vodafone VIP customers can also buy tickets 48 hours before they go on general sale from 9am on Wednesday, via www.vodafone.co.uk/vip.
