Take That to play Croke

Take That are to play a massive summer show at Croke Park in Dublin next year as part of a UK and Ireland stadium tour, it was confirmed today.

The world’s biggest boy band will bring their Circus Live tour to the outdoor venue on Saturday, June 13.

This will be the band’s biggest tour to date with a monumental eight stadium dates across the UK and Ireland. The Circus Live promises to be the band’s most visually dramatic, diverse and exhilarating tour yet.

They will be supported by Irish band The Script, who play St George’s Market in Belfast in December.

Kicking off at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light on June 6, Gary, Jason, Mark and Howard will then travel to Croke Park before heading to Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium followed by Glasgow’s Hampden Park. They will then play three nights in their home town of Manchester at Old Trafford, culminating with two nights at London’s Wembley Stadium.

Speaking about the forthcoming tour, Gary Barlow said: “All of us are really looking forward to getting back on the road again next summer.

“We can think of no better way to thank everyone for their support and loyalty over the past three years. This will be the biggest tour we’ve ever done so we’ll be working especially hard over the next few months to make it the best and most exciting Take That tour yet.”

The four members of the band met up again in 2005 to discuss the possibility of making a television documentary to mark their 10-year split.

But they had no idea they were about to embark on an amazing journey which would see them reform, sell out a massive tour in record time (including several dates at the Odyssey Arena) and play to over half a million fans nationwide.

The band’s last album Beautiful World sold over 2,500,000 copies in the UK, making it their most successful to date.

The subsequent 2007 Beautiful World tour smashed all box office records, selling over 370,000 tickets in less than two hours.

Since reclaiming their place as the UK’s best-loved band Take That have gone on to win a string of prestigious awards including an Ivor Novello for the single Shine and three Brit Awards — Best Single 2007 for Patience, Best Single 2008 for Shine and Best Live Act 2008.

Take That release their new album The Circus on December 1. The first single to be taken from the album, Greatest Day, is out on November 24.

Tickets to see Take That at Croke Park next June go on sale on November 6 at 8am and are priced at 59.50, 69.50 and 70.50 euro.
