Tempah dreams of palace honour

Multi-award winning hip hop star Tinie Tempah believes it would be the stuff that dreams are made of to get an honour at Buckingham Palace.

The 25-year-old - who counts an Ivor Novello award, two Brits, the Mercury prize as well as five number UK number 1 singles among his achievements - suggests it is the British version of the American dream.

He also high-fived the Duke of Cambridge at the Baftas.

He told The Times magazine: "If you become an OBE or a Sir, do you not go to Buckingham Palace?

"One of the pinnacles for me is recognition from your nation, so why at 25 should I shrink away from that?"

The trendsetter, who is known to step out in bow ties and sharp blazers, said: "Being British, Savile Row tailoring, the three-piece suit - these are things we invented. When I think of royal, I imagine a suit."

He also has plans to become a father by the time he is 27.

Tinie added: "I've won loads of awards. I've sold loads of records. I've been to the best parties. I've been around supermodels and rock stars ... I don't want to go to parties for ever. A child will motivate me to do more."
