The Coral drummer Ian Skelly has said it might be as long as five years before the band get back together again to finish off their album.
Ian, who has been the drummer in the band since they formed in 1996, released his debut solo album Cut From A Star last December.
He said The Coral had recorded "half an album" but stopped because "we just needed a break from it."
He said: "We've been together since we were 13, almost every day, and although the stuff we were doing sounded great, I just felt we ran out of steam towards the end."
Ian added: "Everyone wanted to do other things for a bit, so we did... It's not like we needed a break from each other, more the pressure and the name of the band."
Asked when they'd get back together to finish the album, he said: "Who knows? It might be a month, it might be five years."
