It was not quite Beatlemania but more than 1,000 fans were waiting at LAX Airport as the plane touched down.
Boyle is in the city to appear on the final of America's Got Talent tomorrow night, for which she will perform The Rolling Stones’ track Wild Horses.
The singer became an unlikely star after she appeared on BGT earlier this year and was runner-up in the final.
She has also announced details of her debut album which will be named after the track that propelled her to fame after she sang it on TV, I Dreamed A Dream.
The album will be released on November 23.
