Van Morrison is to play an open-air gig on the banks of picturesque Strangford Lough.

The Belfast-born music legend makes his National Trust property debut when he plays outdoors at Castle Ward on May 26.

“What better place to perform than the shores of Strangford Lough?” he said. “The beautiful surroundings of Castle Ward should make it an extra special night and I’m really looking forward to being back in Co Down.

Castle Ward property manager, Barbara Muhly, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Van Morrison back to County Down and incredibly excited to host him at Castle Ward.”

Tickets are on sale now priced at £46, plus booking fee and can be bought via Ticketmaster or by calling 0844 277 4455.
