West to kick off Jools Holland show

Kanye West is to appear on Later... With Jools Holland

Kanye West is set to open the new series of Later... With Jools Holland with a live set.

The Yeezus rapper is among the star-studded names that will kick off the 43rd series of the long-running BBC Two show, which also includes Kings Of Leon and The Righteous Brothers' Bill Medley, reported NME.com.

He would appear on both the live show on September 17 and the longer, pre-recorded Friday night episode (September 20).

Other acts that have been lined up to perform in the upcoming season include Sting, Primal Scream, Disclosure, Haim and Queens Of The Stone Age.

Miguel, Johnny Marr, OMD and Yeah Yeah Yeahs will also play.

Kanye, who has announced plans for a US tour with Kendrick Lamar to support his latest album Yeezus, recently gave a surprise performance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.

The 36-year-old, who has a baby daughter, North, with Kim Kardashian, was joined by Charlie Wilson and the Roots for a live rendition of Bound 2.
