Will.i.am has said that there will be no more Black Eyed Peas unless they can do something different.
The Voice coach, 39, told the Capital Breakfast Show that the future of the group, famous for hits like I Gotta Feeling and Where Is The Love?, wasn't assured.
"We're doing some configuration as far as what do we do as the Peas next," the producer and frontman said.
"It was that whole spark of what do we do next?
"I know we have to either emerge with something from the underground or do something no-one has thought of," he added.
"Either it's amazing or I don't get it. If it doesn't spark that conversation, then there isn't any point."
Will.i.am is currently promoting his new single It's My Birthday, which features singer Cody Wise.
The Black Eyed Peas have sold around 32.5 million albums worldwide and have not released a studio album since The Beginning in November 2010.
