Wretch 32: My daughter likes rap

Wretch 32 would like his daughter to become a nurse

Wretch 32 has revealed his one-year-old daughter has already shown an interest in music - but he would prefer her to pursue a career in medicine instead.

The rapper, who performed at BBC Radio 1's Hackney Weekend, tries to bond with his two children through music.

"My daughter has the same natural interest in music like I have. She is one, but she tries to rap with me and I think that's quite cool," he said backstage at the two-day festival.

"I wouldn't want her to rap though, I want her to be a nurse," he added.

Wretch - whose real name is Jermaine Scott - admitted his son is more keen on motors than music.

"My son is trying to fight the wave and trying to pretend that he wants to be a F1 racer or something like that. I hope he grows out of that," he joked.

The 27-year-old jumped on stage with Leona Lewis on June 23 for a cover of Diddy Dirty Money's Coming Home, before performing his own set the following day.

"Performing is such a great feeling, and when I'm back in London, I get so excited. I love it," he said.

He also joked that he had to keep the reins on his band: "I hid the alcohol until five minutes before we hit the stage."
