Album: The Real Thing

The Real Thing

Outta Sight Soul Essentials, The Singles Collection

(Universal)

The Real Thing (pictured right) were a dominant force in the 1970s.

With tracks like the evergreen No 1 smash You To Me Are Everything and Can't Get By Without You, they ruled the disco/soul world with the likes of Chic.

After a few ropy tracks such as Let's Go Disco, they saw out the 1970s with the mighty Can You Feel The Force.

By then, though, they had all but run out of ideas.

A new two-CD Singles Collection featuring 39 tracks gives you the best and worst of The Real Thing.

The aforementioned You To Me Are Everything tops the best list.

As for the worst, take your pick from Let's Go Disco, Foot Tappin or She's a Groovy Freak.
