Long wait only for the Committed

Bronagh Gallagher - Oh Yeah Music Centre

After a two-hour wait, Bronagh Gallagher finally graced the audience with her presence last night at the Oh Yeah Music Centre as part of Belfast Music Week.

The former Commitments singer was supported by the keyboard and vocals of fellow Derry native Best Boy Grip.

Sadly, his six tunes, while half decent, didn't fill much of the huge wait for the main act to come to the stage.

In saying that when Bronagh and her band did appear they didn't disappoint. Gallagher is a natural show-woman with a huge voice that more than filled the venue and a knack for storytelling in her songwriting.

The blues band accompanying her were perfect.

Sadly, the venue was nowhere near full but those who were there roared as if they were attending a gig at the Odyssey.
