With the release of her ‘Best of’ album, Circus Girl, and her opening slot on Cara Dillon’s current tour, American singer-songwriter Gretchen Peters will be building a solid fan-base here.

Peters is headlining at Rathfriland’s Bronte Music Club on Tuesday and at the Errigle Inn on Wednesday. She will also be supporting Dillon at Omagh’s Strule Arts Centre tonight, Newry’s Town Hall tomorrow, Enniskillen’s Ardhowen Theatre on Thursday, Coleraine’s Riverside Theatre on Friday and Londonderry’s Millennium Forum on November 7.

Meanwhile, Charley Pride will always be popular here and a second Belfast show has been added to his tour, giving him a two-night residency at the Waterfront Hall on Monday and Tuesday, in addition to his gigs at Derry’s Millennium Forum next Thursday and Friday and at Omagh’s Leisure Centre on November 7.

And finally, the 2nd Guinness North Coast Folk Festival is this weekend at venues in Portstewart, Portrush and Portballintrae.

Donegal-based sister act The Henry Girls will be headlining at Portstewart’s Flowerfield Arts Centre — www.northcoastfolkfestival.co.uk
