Aaron Paul: MJ gave me life tips

LOS ANGELES, CA - SEPTEMBER 22: Actor Aaron Paul, winner of the Best Drama Series Award for
Aaron Paul

Aaron Paul was told by Michael Jackson to forgive those who have wronged him.

The Breaking Bad star met the King of Pop before he became famous, when he once ended up at a party thrown by Prince Azim of Brunei six years ago.

After enjoying the day with the royals, Aaron found himself sitting next to the legendary singer.

"He's sitting on the couch [Prince Azim] with Michael Jackson, and me and [Michael] end up having this hour long heart-to-heart about family and upbringings, and I remember, he just put his arm around my shoulder and said, 'You know, if you've had a rough childhood or not, it's all about forgiveness. Once you realise that, it's fine. Everything's fine.'

"And I'm like, 'Michael, you are absolutely right.' And then I go, 'Do you want to do a shot?' And he goes, 'Sure!' And I was like, 'OK, Michael, let's do this,'" Aaron recalled to the February issue of Details magazine.

Since Aaron shot to stardom as Jesse Pinkman in the award-winning TV series about crystal meth, he's found landing movie roles has become much easier.

It has also allowed him to be choosy with the films he goes for.

"[I want] to do special projects. I would rather not work than work on just OK stuff. The things that really excite me are the things that make you feel. I gravitate toward edgy, intense, dark films that just grab you by the throat," he explained.

His latest movie Need for Speed co-stars Dakota Johnson and Dominic Cooper, and gave Aaron the chance to try something new.

"Running around, driving like a maniac in really expensive, fast cars? Why not? After six long, intense years on Breaking Bad, this was perfect," he said.

But Breaking Bad is never far from his thoughts, and the 34-year-actor is keen to be a part of the planned prequel Better Call Saul.

Aaron won two Emmy awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his role in the show that ran from 2008 to 2013.

"Both Bryan [Cranston, co-star] and I want to be a part of that. If they'll have us," he declared.
