Paula Abdul has dismissed suggestions that she didn't get on with Cheryl Cole - by tweeting about how much she admires the fired US X Factor judge.
Reports suggested that TV bosses were unhappy about a lack of chemistry between Paula and Cheryl.
But the US star wrote on Twitter: "Cheryl is amazing. We have forged a wonderful friendship and have been and will continue to stay in touch."
Paula then suggested she knew what the Geordie singer was planning to do, after she turned down a role on the UK X Factor, saying: "I'm excited for everyone to see and hear what she is about to do next. xoP".
American TV bosses recently confirmed that there was no chance of a return to the judging panel on the US X Factor for the Girls Aloud star.
Cheryl's position on the panel has been filled by Nicole Scherzinger, who was originally going to co-host the show with Steve Jones, and now sits alongside Simon Cowell, Paula, and LA Reid..
