The baby news comes six months after the actress and Heart of the Sea star Benjamin Walker tied the knot.

British actress Kaya Scodelario is pregnant with her first child.

The Maze Runner star and In the Heart of the Sea actor Benjamin Walker exchanged vows over the Christmas holidays (Dec15) and now they are having a baby.

The mother-to-be, 24, broke the news to fans on Instagram.com on Tuesday (07Jun16), when she posted a photo of the couple standing on the beach in Coney Island, New York with their hands on her growing belly.

Kaya and Benjamin, 33, were joined by their pet dog, Arnie, as they posed beside a heart drawn in the sand.

"I love you @findthewalker I love our little family," she wrote in the accompanying caption, which also featured a baby emoji.

Her husband shared the same picture on his social media page too, and added, "Happy Summer from the four of us... I love you @kayascods".

The couple met and fell in love on the set of 2014 film The Moon and the Sun, and they were engaged by the end of the year.

The baby news emerges six months after Kaya announced she and Benjamin had secretly wed by uploading a photo of their wedding cake toppers, which were made to resemble the happy couple and its French bulldog.

"Happy New Year everyone," she captioned the snap. "Here's to 2016 being filled with love, laughter and cake for everyone!"

Kaya previously dated Skins co-star Jack O'Connell and actor Elliott Tittensor, while Benjamin was married to Meryl Streep's actress daughter Mamie Gummer from 2011 to 2013.
