Adam Lambert open to duet with The X Factor's Saara Aalto

The former American Idol contestant would also love to join forces with Robbie Williams at some point in the future.

Adam Lambert has hinted at potential collaboration with The X Factor runner-up Saara Aalto.

The 34-year-old singer wowed viewers when he teamed up with Saara for a performance of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody on Saturday (10Dec16). And as he attended the BBC Music Awards on Monday night (12Dec16), Adam teased that the duet might not the last time he joins forces with Finnish singer Saara.

"She’s lovely it was so much fun. Sara is exactly what you see on camera… She’s sweet and down to earth. We had a great time," Adam told The Sun Online, before adding when asked about a future collaboration, "You never know... we had such a lovely time together!"

Saara lost out on The X Factor crown to Matt Terry, who won by an incredibly narrow margin. But if anyone knows what effect a talent show runner-up position can have on a career it's Adam, who was beaten by Kris Allen in the 2009 series of American Idol.

"When you make it to the final you’ve kind of won any way. I was the runner-up when I was on Idol. you get to the end of a show like that you’ve sung every week so you’ve shown the country what you are capable of. There’s no losing," he smiled.

Saara had revealed her desire to perform with Adam earlier in the series, telling Maximum Pop that if she were to make the final of the show: "I have so many choices... Maybe Adam Lambert because he’s so theatrical and we could do a big number together. But I would also love to sing with Celine Dion and Lady Gaga. There are so many options."

Adam was just one of the stars at the BBC Music Awards, where Robbie Williams was on hand to collect Adele's Album of the Year gong. The former Take That singer is another of Adam's dream duet partners, as he added to The Sun: "It was great because I heard things about Robbie for years and he was in Australia and we finally got to meet and we really hit it off and I think we are going to hang out when he’s in LA I want to meet his baby."
