Adam Levine: I deserve success

Adam Levine

Adam Levine doesn't see the point in being "self-deprecating" as he believes he "deserves" his fame and fortune.

The Maroon 5 frontman has seen his popularity soar thanks to his role as a mentor and judge on the hit US TV show The Voice alongside Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton.

Maroon 5 are gearing up to release his fourth studio album Overexposed, and Adam is proud of his success.

"I have a high self-opinion - I don't need to hide that. I don't need to be self-deprecating," he said in an interview with USA Today.

"I do believe that I deserve what I have. I don't think I'm entitled to it. That's a big difference."

Adam doesn't believe in conjuring up senseless stories in a bid to try and connect with fans. The 33-year-old star insists he'll never admit to cleaning his kitchen, when in truth, he doesn't.

"It's ridiculous. It's too much. Can you just be a millionaire?" he mused. "My mom told me a long time ago - she didn't know she was giving me this advice - but she said, 'All I know is, you'll never change, so you'd better get somebody to take care of your room and get a housekeeper.' That was burned into my skull: 'Must make money so I don't have to do my chores, because I wouldn't do them anyway.'

"It's sweet that I don't have to do my laundry."

No matter how stringently your loved ones warn you, that won't stop you pursuing a romantic interest. You're utterly captivated by someone who exudes warmth, charisma and drama. The two of you get along very well, but beware of the financial toll this relationship will take. The object of your affection likes expensive things. If you're not able to provide them with the luxuries they crave, there will be problems. Then again, you have the potential for being a good provider, so all may be well.More
