Adam Levine slams pageant show

Adam Levine has slammed a TV show about a pageant princess, calling it "the decay of Western civilisation".

Honey Boo Boo, aka Alana Thompson, is a seven-year-old beauty pageant participant and the star of a US reality programme called Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.

A number of celebrities have spoken about how much they love the young star and her show, among them Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Lawrence. Maroon 5 rocker Adam doesn't understand the fascination with the little girl, or the competitions she enters.

"Seriously, Honey Boo Boo is the decay of Western civilization. Just because so many people watch the show doesn't mean it's good," he fumes in the December issue of GQ.

"So many people witness atrocities and can't take their eyes away from them, but that doesn't mean they're good. That show is literally The. Worst. Thing. That's. Ever. Happened."

The 33-year-old singer continued with a foul-mouthed rant about the show and seemingly slammed the child's parents for letting her be involved with it.

He added he is happy to have been able to air his views in public.

"It's complete f**cking ignorance and the most despicable way to treat your kids. F**k those people. You can put that in the magazine: F**k those idiots. They're just the worst. Sorry, I'm so sensitive to that - like, I don't know, man, it's upsetting. Just to clarify, I said, 'F**k those people.'"

The Hunger Games star Jennifer recently spoke of her admiration for Honey Boo Boo, explaining she crashed her car after becoming convinced she'd seen the little girl.

This isn't a good time to make travel plans. Weather conditions and work responsibilities have a way of wreaking havoc with your schedule. Wait another few days before putting down a hefty deposit. Working behind the scenes will yield significant rewards. If someone asks you to serve as their assistant, go ahead and accept. The pay will be excellent and there will be a lot of fringe benefits, too. Don't talk about a neighbour's private life in mixed company.More
