Adam Sandler attacked by cheetah

Adam Sandler has revealed he was attacked by a cheetah during a family holiday.

The Happy Gilmore actor was at a special facility in Africa and was being allowed to feed water to big cats when the animal attacked.

He told David Letterman on his US talk show he feared he would die when the cheetah pounced on his back.

He said: "My friends say I played that pretty cool but I had a stiff neck at the time and when he jumped on me I just thought 'Oh my neck.'

"All I was going to do was let him eat me. There was not one part of me that was going to fight back. I was like, 'So this is how I'm dying. That's great'."

The cheetah attacked as Adam, 46, crouched near a pool of water.

The comic actor, who played a video of the incident for the audience, explained he had been warned not to go close to the pool, adding: "They said you were not supposed to bend down low with the water."

Adam was not injured in the attack.
