Adam Sandler dishes out dad advice
Adam Sandler has advised Jimmy Fallon when the right time is to praise kids.
The 48-year-old funnyman and his wife Jackie are proud parents to daughters Sadie, nine, and six-year-old Sunny.
During an appearance on Jimmy Fallon's talk show Adam shared some tips with the host, who is also a dad to two girls, on how to go about congratulating their accomplishments.
"I wanted to tell you some good advice I learnt this weekend - I was in New Hampshire. This is good, because we both have two girls each, this is good advice that I want to pass on 'cause mine are a little older," Adam explained to Jimmy. "When you go swimming with the kids, when your kids go off the diving board, you have to... And they say, 'Daddy, watch this,' and they do something like a cartwheel off the diving board and into the pool. You have to delay your reaction 'cause I get yelled at. They did the cartwheel, I go, 'YEAHHH WAY TO GO, THAT'S AWESOME,' and then they come up out of the water and I'd be staring at them. They'll be like, 'You didn't like it?'"
Adam can be seen channelling his inner child in upcoming comedy Pixels, which follows an alien attack in the form of giant arcade games.
Co-starring the likes of Peter Dinklage and Josh Gad, the movie is a dream for fans of video games.
Adam is one of them, but recently admitted he's lost his touch over the years.
“I have got some skills in these games but as things progressed and we got older and new games came out, I can’t say I’m good at any of that stuff,” he told reporters at the New York premiere. "I would like to be but I’ve got no time. But in the old days I was pretty good at that stuff.”
