Former The One Show and Daybreak co-hosts Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley are teaming up once again for a three-part series about the nature of friendship.

Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley are teaming up once again for a new television show.

The pair first won over viewers on BBC's The One Show, before they were snapped up by ITV to front its new morning show Daybreak. However, after the programme failed to impress audiences, Christine and Adrian were both axed from the series in 2011.

They have both gone on to have successful careers solo since then, with Christine fronting Dancing On Ice between 2012 and 2014, and standing in for Holly Willoughby on numerous occasions on This Morning. Adrian, meanwhile, presents a daily show on BBC Radio 5 Live, and returned to the small screen in January (16) to present a two-part travel series on BBC Two entitled My Mediterranean with Adrian Chiles.

Now Christine and Adrian are set to reunite for a new three-part series about the nature of friendship. It is being made by BBC Northern Ireland, but The Sun newspaper reports that if it's a success, it will also air across the U.K.

"We’re pleased to confirm that Adrian and Christine have agreed to join forces again for a new BBC Northern Ireland production," a BBC spokesperson told the publication. "While we can’t say much about this project at the moment, we’re obviously excited to have both on board.”

The pair has remained close friends since their time together on television. In an interview with The Guardian newspaper back in 2010, Christine admitted Adrian is her "best mate".

"When there's a couple on telly, people think either you absolutely despise each other and you're pretending to be nice, or you're in love with each other. The truth of the matter is we're literally in the middle of that," she said.

She added to fellow interviewee Adrian: "It sounds silly, but you are, you're my best mate."

Adrian was also on hand to support Christine as she married footballer beau Frank Lampard last December (15).
