Adventures begin again for Doctor

Doctor Who is returning to screens this weekend

Matt Smith and Arthur Darvill join Karen Gillan on a series of cinema-style adverts for the new series of Doctor Who.

The trio start a new series of adventures this Saturday with the first of five episodes - Asylum Of The Daleks.

Both Karen and Arthur, who play the timelord's sidekicks Amy and Rory, will bow out in the fifth episode The Angels Take Manhattan, which sees them come face to face with the sinister weeping angels in New York.

Fans were given a clue about what to expect with the release of a line from the script which read: "Never let him see the damage. And never, ever let him see you age. He doesn't like endings."

The Doctor's new companion, played by former Emmerdale star Jenna-Louise Coleman, will replace the pair.

The new series, which will feature a range of guest stars including Steven Berkoff and Jemma Redgrave, also includes episodes called Dinosaurs On A Spaceship and a western-themed story called A Town Called Mercy.

That will be followed by a Christmas special and another eight episodes next year.
