Agyness Deyn: Husband is my hero

Agyness Deyn

Agyness Deyn says her husband Giovanni Ribisi is her "hero".

The British model-and-actress caused a stir when she married the 38-year-old actor in June last year after a whirlwind romance. Agyness and Giovanni are settling into marital life at their home in Los Angeles and the 29-year-old beauty insists that despite their shared profession they rarely discuss work.

"No! That's so funny. We don't," Agyness laughed in a new interview with InStyle magazine when asked if she ever goes through her acting lines with Giovanni. "He's incredible. He's my hero.

"No, but obviously, if I was like, a teacher, I'd come home and be like, 'This kid at school… blah, blah, blah.' So, obviously, we talk about our jobs. I can't really answer that. We're both like, really private people."

Agyness was also quizzed on her surprise wedding. The star prefers to keep her relationship out of the spotlight, but did reveal she was drawn to Giovanni because he inspires her to pursue her dreams.

"I don't know. I suppose you meet someone and you're just like… you know," she said. "Obviously, if someone's marrying someone, they're bringing a lot of really good stuff... So..."

Agyness, who turns 30 next month, is focusing on acting and has put her modelling career on the backburner.

However, she has returned to her fashion roots for the InStyle photoshoot, which was shot by celebrated photographer Rankin. Agyness sports a cropped blonde hairstyle as she poses in a series of vintage outfits, including a black and white checked long skirt and top, a see-through checked dress, red and white stripy heels, a white hard hat and lashings of eyeliner.

Agyness admits the fashion industry left her feeling very lonely and she didn't make friends with many other models.

"For a long time, I was such a nomad. That was my life for so long. Doing sh*t like that," she explained. "Being in a hotel, not knowing where you are. You could be in any county.

"Just at work we'd hang out… because it was a job and I'd go and do my job, then go home."
