Alec Baldwin 'apologises for outburst'
Alec Baldwin has sent a top Hollywood producer a handwritten apology after blasting him in public.
The Hollywood star reportedly slammed Harvey Weinstein at a Cannes Film Festival party recently.
Alec was apparently annoyed that Harvey had declined to back his latest venture, calling the film icon a "f**king douche bag".
The two men were due to join forces to host this week's renowned amfAR charity gala, but Alec was eventually not involved. There are conflicting reports about whether he was removed or left of his own accord.
He attended as a guest, with New York Post stating he also penned a short missive to Harvey.
"HW, my apology to you and congratulations on a successful event," the publication states it read.
Harvey was touched by the lengths Alec went to in order to apologise.
"Alec couldn't have been more gracious. We all lose our tempers sometime; trust me I have, too. We all appreciated his generosity to everyone at amfAR," he said in a statement.
Alec is shooting a mockumentary called Seduced and Abandoned, which is about the issues filmmakers face when trying to get their work financed.
He was apparently annoyed Harvey - who has worked on The Artist and Lord of the Rings movies - didn't want to be involved.
"I don't care who knows. After the success he had at Cannes last year and all the f**king Oscars, he's still a f**king douche bag. I can't believe it," Alec is reported to have said at a Calvin Klein party.
There is speculation his outburst might have been dreamt up for his movie.
