Alec Baldwin to host talk show

Alec Baldwin has landed his own talk show in the US.

The 30 Rock star will host weekly night time show Up Late With Alec Baldwin on Fridays on MSNBC.

The show, which airs from October, which will see the actor discussing current events and culture.

There had been rumours for some time that Alec, 55, was interested in taking on a chat show.

MSNBC president Phil Griffin said in a statement: "I've been talking with Alec for a while and can't wait to bring his personality and eclectic interests to MSNBC. He's got such passion for ideas and what's going on in the world - he's going to be a great addition to our line up."

Alec, who recently welcomed a baby girl with his wife Hilaria, has previously said he would love to front his own show.

The star also has experience of interviewing famous people in his weekly podcast Here's The Thing.
